39/365: Giant Can of Nutritional Yeast 2/8/2010
Image by @aerial_m Project 365: Giant Can of Nutritional Yeast Monday, 8 February 2010 To try out a vegan alfredo recipe, it required buying nutritional yeast. Off to Whole Foods! Except they didn't have any in the bulk section (so I could get just the required amount) and it only came in this jumbo can. I decided to bite the bullet and buy it anyways - I found a ton of recipes that call for the yeast and itcan be mixed in drinks and most dishes. Guess I'll be making lots of new recipes with this treat!!! Lots of opportunities to experiment. For those wondering what it is, it's an ingredient you'll find mostly in vegan recipes. It should remind you of cheese with it's nutty smell and flavor and offers B12, in ingredient most vegetarians and vegans lack. I also found this mega can in the supplements aisle thanks to a friendly Whole Foods employee. heylovedc.tumblr.com
