Although democracy is considered the best government type and every country in the world should strive fore it, for international trade it can be the worst enemy. Many people do not like China, for example, because it is a communist country, Chinese people do not have their freedom and all other ”blabla”, but at the same time many of the worlds biggest enterprises, I mean the ones from the ”free” world allocate their factories and manufacture their goods in China. And why? Simply because that the labor costs are low and there is no minimal wage. Show me a democratic country with no minimal wage set by the government. Yes we might feel bad for the poor Chinese, but we still wear sneakers and drive cars that are produced there and we do not complain about the price of the items.

Another terrible side effect of democracy is corruption. Of course there is corruption in a communist country, but the number of people you have to pay to successfully conduct business is considerably smaller than in a democratic country. The corruption levels are especially bad in newly turned democracies. It is even understandable why that is. People who have lived under oppressing regimes and did not have very much, suddenly have unlimited opportunities. And what is the first thing you might need? It is money of course and most of the people do not care how they get it. Lets just say try to conduct business in Russia or other post-soviet countries! Of course in more advanced countries where there is democracy fore more than hundred years the corruption levels are lower, but I do not believe that there is a democratic country in the world with no corruption at all.
Do not get me wrong I am happy to live in a democratic country and it is quite nice to be free. But I also feel good that there is a country like China and I can by my sneakers at a reasonable price.
