Have you ever eaten fresh uncooked fruits, vegetables, and nuts? This way of eating called eating raw. Fresh picked locally grown organic produce is the ideal. Raw food can not be heated past 102 degrees, which is as warm as normal sunlight. These raw living foods contain enzymes that can flood our bodies with nutrients.
The premise behind this diet is that the enzymes and nutrients of living foods give our bodies the building blocks to rebuild better and healthier. The human body is constantly changing as old cells are replaced with new cells. We literally are what we eat, so if we give our bodies living nutrient rich foods, packed with enzymes, our new cells will rebuild younger and better.
There are many health claims from eating raw. Some people say that they have cured diseases, regulated their blood sugar, and have been able to get off of prescription medicines because of eating raw. These claims may or may not be true but almost all people who try the raw diet experience weight loss, increased energy, and a sense of well being.
Eating raw may sound extreme, but if there were a way to feel better, lose weight, and increase total health wouldn’t it be worth looking into? We all know that eating fresh fruits and vegetables will make us healthier. So it does make sense that eating only healthy foods can produce extreme health.
What do raw foodists eat? A typical raw meal consists of large amounts of fruits and vegetables, supplemented with healthy fats and oils, such as raw nuts and avocado. When one is on a raw diet more food may be required than normal. Especially at the beginning while one is still adjusting to the new diet.
For breakfast we could make a large fruit salad with sliced bananas, Clementine wedges, and berries. It is best to choose fruits that you like and enjoy eating. Don’t be afraid to eat as much as it takes to feel full. Many raw foodists experience weight loss while eating more calories than normal. Plus you get the added benefit of flooding your body with healthy enzymes and nutrients.
